Found out about this tragic news late. I played with Rory on the Munster Schools U18 squad, and we had a great connection. Honest and genuine as they come, one of the good guys. Incredibly sad to hear of this, and my deepest condolences to his family and wife. RIP Rory old buddy.

Sincerest sympathies to Sarah, Karen and Paul and the extended families. It was with great shock that I learnt of the passing of your dearly beloved Rory. I had great chats with Karen about Rory's exploits on the Rugby field when visiting the National Map Service office. It was so obvious how much Rory was adored and loved by you all. I am so so sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace.

Paul i was so sorry to hear of Rorys passing. I met him only a few times but he was a really nice and genuine person. I will always remember when we travelled to play CBC from Bandon and Rory was captain of CBC. The same day we were short and first up to offer to play for us was Rory. That was a mark of the man. Indeed he went on to score a try for us. Please accept my deepest sympathy to you and Karen and Rory wife Sarah on your loss.

We met him in Old Christians as a young lad with a great smile and had the pleasure of watching him and training him in the Old Christians academy almost 20 years ago. He had a great love for the game and all of his team mates. He always played with a huge smile on his face and a determination to learn. I was his coach for 2 years and learned a lot about him and his huge capacity for leadership.
We met fairly often since and he was always friendly and his smile lit up the whole day. He was a huge presence wherever went.
We were away when we heard of his passing so we were not able to pass on our condolences in person.

My heart breaks for Rory's parents and wife. I watched the mass today and you gave him a beautiful send off. The love in the church today for Rory was clear to see.

The next few months/years will be difficult but Rory knew how loved he was. He had amazing parents and a very loving wife.
