On behalf of the President, Vice-President, Honorary Herald, Fellows, Board of Directors and Members of the Genealogical Society of Ireland, we send our sincerest condolences to Rory's family on the passing of our former President and former Cathaoirleach.
Rory was the longest serving Cathaoirleach of the Society before becoming our President in 2009, a post he held with considerable distinction until his retirement in 2014. Rory represented the Society at home and abroad - his charm, diplomacy, business background and organisational skills were to the fore at all times in the interests of our Society and its worldwide membership.
He was a good friend and a very able and trustworthy colleague - always ready to help and advise - very sadly missed. RIP
