On this his 91st birthday, the Irish Sea seems so wide & the COVID restrictions so cruel.

Rory was such a kind, warm & gentle soul. A true gentleman who adored & was rightly so proud of his family & his roots.

I smile as I think of Rory meticulously tending to the garden, swapping your cars around or heading off to Croke Park with always a wave & a smile.

A visit home will never be the same again, it always included Rory sat in his chair, glass in hand, quiet quick wit and friendly warm smile.

I pray that Rory & Finola are reunited and that you take comfort in the warm love and support that encircles you at this very difficult and sad time.

Rory was such a special person. He always had a smile on his face and was such a warm, kind gentleman. A fantastic neighbour and good friend to my parents and to us. Someone I always loved to see in his front garden for a friendly chat. He is greatly loved and we will never forget him or Finola. My sincere condolences to you Maria, Deirdre, John and the boys. I know how close you are all and how great your loss is.
