Sincere sympathy to Rory's family on the passing of Rory. A great character from the "mad days" in Accounts Payable, Aer Lingus in the early 70's when long hair, motorbikes, football and good crack was the norm. Also, remember him in our school days in Joeys, Fairview.

It is my greatest sorrow and unbelievable shock - that I have just heard of the passing of another of my really great friends - Retired Firefighter - Rory Mooney - " D " watch - No 3 District Station - Dublin fire Brigade - Phibsboro - what can I say about Rory - he was some man for one man - I first met Rory on a wet morning in Kilbarrack Fire Station - at the start of our journey through the Fire services - after only a few days we gave Rory the nickname - The six million man - for his fearless aptitude to climbing ladders and for throwing himself into each and every drill - he was a gentleman and a great mentor to all - a great lad to have by your side - a man that you could rely on - through thick and thin - this world will be a sad place with his loss - I will certainly miss him - Sleep tight Rory - your shift is over - May you Rest In Peace 🙏 - your old mate Buzzer
