I was extremely sorry to hear of the passing of Rory. He was always a neighbourly and friendly person around Haddon Court. Deepest condolences to Rory's family. Beannacht Dé lena anam.

Gerry I'm so sorry too for your great loss of such a great guy as Rory - always a cheerful person to bring joy and laughter into our Yacht Lunch Group and beyond in the many years and past times in No 74 Stiles Road.

Rory will be missed. Yes, he was laid back, but curious, knowledgable and always very gentle. He seemed content with his life even if it had it’s hardships. So Rory, may you now rest in well deserved peace and may only the best music of your favorite composers be played in your new home. My sincerest condolences to all the family.

To all the Mulcahy's, we were saddened by the unexpected passing of Rory. He seemed to be making a recovery , so the news came as a shock. We have many fond memories of Rory visits to us here in California, including his manicure and pedicure at the local salon! He was a man of many interests with a great memory for music and film lore. He enjoyed and valued his friendships. He loved his family and appreciated their love and support , particularly in the tough times. We hope Rory's memory will being comfort to those who cared for him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, thinking of you all with love and sympathy. Alyssa, Bridget, Nicolina and Dan, Sacramento. To Rory's family, please accept my sincere condolences on his passing. I have many and fond memories of long ago while working with Rory in what was then the Communications Section of ESB.

He was an absolute gentleman, very well read and respected. We had many interesting discussions over the years, he will be missed, may he rest in peace.

Rory has been my great friend since I was five. We talked on the phone constantly, and I stayed with him when in Ireland. He knew all my vices but was most tactful!
He will leave a big gap in my life. I will miss him.

Dear Maire, Brid, Gerard and Noel, sincerest condolences on Rory's passing. We only knew Rory in the final weeks of his life while he was under our care in the Mater Hospital but even in this short time we could see what an exceptionally kind gentleman he was. When we chatted, we got glimpses of his former life and he spoke so fondly of his family and his beloved Clontarf. Rory always greeted us enthusiastically when we came to see him. He made a point of remembering all our names and he was always so grateful for anything we did for him. It was our pleasure to care for him. He truly made a lasting impression on us. May he Rest in Peace.

I knew Rory all my life as I grew up on Stiles Road and in the latter years I use meet him regularly walking with his friends in St Annes Park. A lovely man who always enquired about the family. I was a colleague and contemporary of Rory’s in the ESB for many years. He was a very intelligent person and I greatly admired his courage. A very genial man, he was a mine of information on classical music and thoroughly enjoyed his annual visit to the BBC Prom concerts in London. His knowledge of movies was encyclopaedic. He told me that two of his favourite movies were Lawrence of Arabia and Babette’s Feast. I’ll have to revisit them in his honour. Rest in peace, Rory!

Rory was a regular customer here for lunch and loved by all the staff here..A true gentleman..I don't think I've ever seen him without a smile on his face and thats how we will all remember him..No matter what rain hail or snow he would arrive with his friend John for a coffee and lunch and we will miss seeing him walk through the doors at 11.30 each morning as I know John certainly has also.
