I knew Rosanna from RAR. We had many years working with the group.
She became a friend, a wonderful kind and amazing woman. Rebellious and no nonsense.
It was very hard not to love her. You’ll be forever missed.

Rosanna had a wonderful and passionate commitment to humanity. She was great fun and good company but, above all else, gave so much time and energy to the cause of people who were left out or left behind. Thoughts with all her family and many friends. Suaimhneas sioraí di.

Sad news on the passing of an old neighbour from Parnell Road .
So sad to hear of Rosanna's death. She was a wonderful woman; so generous in her commitment to people in need and unstinting in her efforts to make a better world. She will be missed for her warmth and wisdom and her many talents. Rest In Power Rosanna.
Rosanna truly walked the walk in terms of striving to make this world a better place. She was a committed socialist, a thinker, a speaker but more than anything a do-er. I was privileged to know her through her anti- racism work with Residents Against Racism and the Anti Racism Campaign. She campaigned tirelessly for political change but also in support of individuals who often found themselves powerless when they came up against the organs of the state - both those who suffered at the hands of garda brutality and those who faced the threat of deportation from the state. As a result of the commitment of Rosanna, Henry and a small bunch of others, many people seeking asylum who would otherwise have been deported from the state managed to make it through the asylum system and make new lives for themselves here. Her anti-racism/anti-deportation work, her pro-choice campaigning, her socialist and feminist writing and campaigning ensure that her legacy will live on. Deepest condolences to Rosanna's family, friends and comrades.
Sincere Sympathy From Bernard Durkan TD
My deepest condolences to Rosanna's friends and family on her passing. Rosanna was an amazing person who inspired thousands of people across this country to reject racism and campaign for equality. As a teenager in Galway looking for an anti-racist voice in Ireland to latch onto, I came across Rosanna's work with Residents against Racism and it has continued to guide me for the past 20 years.
So long Rosanna, thank you for everything you did, and for every soul you tried to touch. Your spirit will live on. Despite the tough times that currently face us, your inspiration is what will guide us to real equality on this island.

I would like to pass on my condolences to Rosanna's family and friends. I first began working with Rosanna in 2005 and our collaboration continued until she became ill. Rosanna was a founder member and the main activist of Residents Against Racism. RAR's main focus was on the racism of the state against those seeking asylum in Ireland. Rosanna opposed both the direct provision system and the state's deportation policy. She accompanied those with deportation orders when they were obliged to report to the Garda National Immigration Bureau in Burgh Quay. Because of her defense of those facing deportation, she was eventually barred from the office. But she remained outside always giving advice to those signing. She operated a legal advice clinic each Friday evening in the Law Library of the Four Courts, followed by a general meeting in the Teachers' Club. Due to Rosanna's actions, countless people escaped deportation. They will forever be grateful to Rosanna. She was also instrumental in organizing many protests outside Dáil Éireann, protests that challenged the political establishment. Rosanna was known as Mama Aduro (Nigerian Pidgin for Mother of Asylum Seekers) by asylum seekers. Rosanna was the Harriet Tubman of Ireland. May she rest in peace.
To all Rosanna’s family and wide network of friends and fellow activists, deepest sympathies on this sad news. Rosanna was a tireless campaigner on so many important causes, and she will be greatly missed. With condolences and best wishes, Ivana.
Rosanna was a great campaigner against racism and for a host of progressive causes. But most of all she was a kind and warm person RIP

Oh! Rosanna Flynn, journey well my friend and ardent supporter. You mean many things to many people. What I believe we can all agree on is that you radiate love and compassion. Continue to rest in peace 🙏🏼
My deepest sympathy. She was a great woman who aimed at universal justice but never forgot the individual victims of injustice.
Rosanna Flynn was a dedicated feminist, socialist, and anti-racist activist. Many people will remember her courage, lightly carried with great dignity and a sense of humour. During the televised coverage of a 2002 abortion referendum - an attempt by Bertie Ahern's government to overturn the Supreme Court Judgment in the infamous X Case - Rosanna was a strong supporter of the Alliance for a No Vote, which was successful. In those days very few women were prepared to openly state they had an abortion. During the RTÉ TV coverage of the count the state broadcaster contacted celebrating campaigners in the Teachers' Club, looking for a woman who had gone through an abortion. Rosanna whizzed off to Montrose, addressed the nation interviewed Miriam O'Callaghan, and returned to the Teachers' Club to drink a glass of champagne.
Rosanna was committed to making the world a better place. In Residents Against Racism she defended newly arrived migrants to Ireland, at a time when she was often a lone voice. Thank you Rosanna, thank you for your love, care and kindness.
A brave, principled and dedicated socialist, and a lovely person. She cared. Prepare her place in the memory of the movement.
So sad to hear this news. Rosanna was a lovely person, so kind, so brave, so generous. I will never forget her, she helped so many people.
Rosanna was altruistic and full of compassion in defending migrant rights. Her warmth and kindness was reflected by the way she committed herself in educating people against racism and discrimination through her work with Residents Against Racism here in Dublin, Ireland. She fought a good cause and will be vividly and fondly remembered by all who knew and worked with her, a true heroine of our times. Rest in Power Rosanna Flynn!
