I knew Rose from her commitment, with us all, in our Annual Galway Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes / A very active parishioner with many groups both within the parish and further afield & The Contact Organisation,

It was a privilege to have known and worked with her. I met and worked for God with her. Thanks for the privilege.

My deepest sympathy with prayers to Olivia, Tomasina, Michael, Andrew, sisters Bríd & Margaret, brother Leo, sons-in-law Brian Williams & Colin Ryan & the extended Brosnan & Curry Families.

Sorry I am unable to be present at her funeral but my immune system is not in a good place.

Even when her own mobility was getting restricted she didn't stop in her duties and kindness to others.i know she did great work in contact also and Rose was always a giver. Condolences to Michael, Andrew, Olivia, Thomasina, her grandchildren, her brother Mairtin and extended family on the sad passing of Rose.

Rose had to face the heartbreak of raising her family after the tragic passing of her huaband Tom so many years ago. To give of her time and energy to that challenge alone would have been sufficient, but added to that Rose gave of her goodness and her gift to so many groups in such a wholesome way including the Parish of Barna, in particular the Community Group which brought comfort and joy to so many seniors in the parish. Her concern for people living alone led her to becoming a founding member of Contact. Her devotion to supporting the sick and infirm annually during the Lourdes pilgrimage. Her positive, joyful and healing presence in the company of the various groups and parishioners was so uplifting.

The last few years were difficult for Rose as she struggled with health and the frustration of not freely getting out to meet people.

Finally her spirit left her frail body early Monday morning.

May Rose now nest 'ar dheis Dé I measc na naomh', in the comfort of knowing that she gave of herself in such a loving and wholesome way during her lifetime here on earth.
