Very hard to believe and accept that you are gone Rose. One of the kindest people I have ever met. A second mother to us all. especially me. Someone who always saw the good in everyone and who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Thank you for all the love,wonderful memories, encouragement and for lifting me down off the wall when I was a nipper. You will always be in our hearts and minds. I hope you now know not only how much you meant to us but also how much we love you. I have no doubt you are now with Donal and are were you need to be.

Roses home had always an open door, a warm welcome and a hearty meal served to all, before you’d ever get a chance to take over your coat off or step over the pooch Rossa.

It was a home away from home for me, it was always Rose and Donal’s, then it became Roses, then it became Melrose, but one thing that will never change is the memories that was made in Roses home, from birthdays to graduations, concerts and matches, a bag of chips over the wall in the back yard, a cup of tea and a chat with the residents of the avenue, to hip hop in Ballybough, to community life in Donnycarney. A hot sup at 8pm while matching a match on tv in the back room.

Ironically Rose, aided by Donal made an excellent pancake, thousands they made over the years, hundreds of them I ate with them. We will gather on Shrove Tuesday to say our earthy goodbyes while you reap your rewards in heaven. Rest in peace, thank you for everything xxx
