I last saw Rose at my dear mom's wake (Helen) she was always so graceful I also have memories of my granny being friends with Rose and many other figures in Bagnalstown who have since passed. I'm sure many can agree that it's an end of an era when Rose passed...

So sorry to learn of the death of Rose. She was a wonderful lady, always with a smile on her face no matter where you met her. She had a fantastic memory for names and never forgot a customer. She was one of the last 'true' shopkeepers. Her shop was a veritable Aladdin's cave. People often wondered how she could stock such a wide variety of items in such a confined space, everything from a needle to an anchor that was needed to keep the house in running order, including the free range eggs from under the counter which were only sold to a select few. May she rest in peace.

I have lovely memories of Rose when she was in Maddens. She was always so bright and cheery to us as we bought our bulls eyes and clove drops. She brightened the day on our way back to school after lunch.
There are very few that could match her kindness. May she rest on a high seat in heaven.
