I had the joy of meeting Rose on a few occasions with my mum (Kathleen O’Brien, Killarney), in particular a memorable Dolly Parton gig at the Marquee we went to together. Rose was full of fun and joy and was greatly loved by her Kerry community.

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Rose during my time working in Teach Mhuire Day Centre where Rose was a long time volunteer with Kerry Mental Health Association. Her contribution to the service and to the clients was beyond words especially throughout Covid where she worked in the garden and the poly tunnels, here she passed on her interest and knowledge with such heart and humour. Rose liaised with all the tutors and was always first to be called on when we needed assistance with our fundraisers. She was the heart and soul of all our socials and parties. Her sense of humour and wit always shone through. We loved seeing her arrive to the Day Centre her presence simply brightened everyone’s day.
Rest easy dear Rose you will be missed.

Her Dublin wit and laughter echoed across the Kerry hills when we were out on our regular Sunday walks. Our trips abroad were always hilarious with Rose around. She often relayed how in her early years as a hairdresser she used to cut Luke Kelly”s hair. Rest in eternal peace Rose. Our deepest condolences to Sarah and Jessica brother in law Christopher and the extended family.
