Dear Ellen, John, Margaret and aunt Miriam,
I can not begin to imagine your heartache at the passing of your lovely mother Rose, and so soon after the passing of your father, Michael. May God bless you all and keep you in his care, now and in the days to come.
The world has many famous people called ‘Rose’, but for me, whenever someone says the name ‘Rose’, I will forever remember your lovely mother. She will always be the most important ‘Rose’ I have ever known. My memory of her will be of a kind and gentle woman who, when I was a child always made me feel very welcome in her home, and as an adult I was always happy to meet her.
In her memory, I will plant a rose named ‘Blessings’ – her life was a Blessing to so many people whose lives she touched with her kindness. I am truly grateful that my father, mother, brothers and I were among those people who benefitted from her kindness.
Rest in Peace Mrs. Thornton – a true Rose.
