My sincere sympathy to you Sean and all the family on the great loss of your wonderful wife Rosemarie. May she rest in peace. I only learned of it this evening 4th October 2012.

Dearest Sean and family,

I have known Rosemarie since I was a graduate student in the late 1980s.

She was a respected Hispanista that I have always admired. We spent some nice moments together at symposia in Spain, especially during one in Valladolid in 1999. We laughed and enjoyed wonderful meals and tapas, while exchanging our ideas about court portraiture in Renaissance Spain and our favorite painter, Alonso Sánchez Coello.

I will always keep her smile and graciousness in my heart.

I was truly sad to hear of her sudden and far too early passing. She had so much more to give.

May she rest in peace, and hopefully her unfinsihed work will be carried through by you, Sean.

Sylvia and I were deeply distressed to hear today of Rosemarie's untimely passing.
She was a fellow-Hispanist I held in the highest regard, and a very treasured friend.
We much regret that due to ill-health we shall be unable to atend the ceremony, but please be asured of our heartful sympathy.

PLEASE CORRECT a crass error I realise I have just made. In sending my condolences, I typed my dear friend's name Christian name as "Rosemary".
I trust you will have noted the error when proof reading, but am hastening to point it out just in case.

Rosemarie was a very lovely lady, and I send my warmest wishes to her family.
