Rosemary Harrington

I knew Rosemary at school. She was bright and beautiful in every respect, so much so that I can remember as a child, marvelling at how aptly her parents had named her.

Over the years I always enjoyed a lovely chat whenever we would meet, the last time being in September , when while out walking with my husband and daughter in the woods in Garrykennedy I had the pleasure of meeting Rosemary with Paul. She was as bright and warm as ever.

I know that she must be a huge loss to Paul, to Nora, to Robert and Alex of whom she was so proud,and to all her family.My deepest condolences go out to you all.

May her kind and gentle soul Rest in Peace.

In our secondary school, Salesians, we had a wicked, yet brilliant, mathematics teacher, Sister Moira, who had no time for maths weaklings such as myself and who created an atmosphere of - for me - terror! Rosemary had a brilliant mathematical mind and knew no fear, ever. Whenever I was freaked out by a test, she was always there to help out. I last saw her on my wedding day in 1997. At school, with Angie, Jean, Mary, Ger & Judy, we were a close knit set who kept up with each other for many years throughout the separation of lives and countries. I have many mad photos of us in the younger days when we all thought we’d live forever. This loss hurts so much. All strength & love to you Paul, Robert, Alex and her family. How blessed were we who had her in our lives for even the briefest of times. My memories are forever joyful xxx

It has been many years since our school days at Salesians but some people always shine their light brighter than others and I will always remember beautiful Rosemary. I was shocked and saddened at the news of her life cut too short. My heartfelt condolences to her family and all those close to her, may she Rest In Peace.

I shall miss her chats and laughter. She always had a smile and a word for everyone in the yard. She was always a pleasure to meet . May i express my sincerest condolences to Rosemarys family, truly a very sad loss.On one of her many visits to us in Suretank, Dunleer I told Rosemary that I had been asked to be a manager of the Quality Dept and I was unsure if I would be able for that position.She told me to make us a pot of tea and get bikkies,sat me down and told me that I should focus on my strengths and not my weaknesses. Nearly two years later I am still the Quality Manager.

Its very hard to process this really.

I caught up with Rosemary twice in the past years and with some of our ex Salesian class friends. We chatted for hours and hours, had the best fun, with this bright, positivity radiating around us all, that she created for us.

It doesn't make any sense that she has gone and yet she has .
