My sincere sympathies on the death of Rosie. It was a great privilege to know her. I always enjoyed her company, her good humour, her zest for life. She made an enormous contribution to life in Dúnlaoghaire and will be sadly missed. God rest her.

I’m so sorry to learn of Rosie’s passing. I have wonderful memories of eating brown bread and
jam in her kitchen as a little girl while Rosie and my Mum Stella chatted over numerous cups of coffee. She was a great Dun-Laoghaire lady and her like will not be seen again. Our deepest condolences from all the Spence family.

I knew Rosie through her extraordinary involvement with the Tivoli Training Centre. Her incredible energy, enthusiasm and dedication for the project was an inspiration to all. But this was only a microcosm of a life devoted to the concerns of others. Her self effacing positive attitude was not only an example to her disciples it was an infection.

Very sad to hear the news of Rosie passing. We were neighbours in Mulgrave Street for many years. Rosie was the original Wonder Woman a force for good and extremely helpful if needed. There will be never another Rosie.
