Roy was a lovely man , he was a good worker in the canteen. He was very kind and he used to help me with lots of things in moyle road. He is going to be very missed . I have good memories with him. Sending my love to his family and friends x
Last year it was my pleasure to have mentored Roy during Job Shadow Day with An Post.
I had known Roy before Job Shadow Day as Roy lived in the house where my wife Ciara is the Manager. When I visited the house I would see Roy before I heard him, as his personality was that of such a gentle quiet man.
The day Roy came to visit the Dublin 1 district office for Job Shadow Day, I remember how excited he was, he took on each task with a smile and quiet thank you and enjoyed delivering mail to North Great Georges Street in Dublin 1.
Roy got to meet and greet customers, telling them he was their Postman for the day. When he was taken on a tour of the GPO he had a wonderful time and enjoyed the experience of visiting such an iconic building.
Roy was such a gentleman who will be sadly missed by those who got to briefly meet Roy on Job Shadow Day.

Una, Hughie, Deirdre and Grainne have fond memories of growing up alongside Roy and his family on Church Road. In later years it was a great comfort to us to know that himself and our Una had become even closer friends. Our thoughts are with his family and many friends who we know were shocked by Roy’s untimely death. Una in particular will miss the great chats they had together and his smile and generous nature.

I nearly fell over when my brother Vivian told me of Roy's passing, I'd only gotten to know Roy well over the last couple of years, although I'd often met him previously. Myself, Vivian, Roy and Eddie would often head off on a Tuesday for a day out. We always had a fantastic time. Roy was an absolute gentleman and such a nice guy to be around. He will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him. Moyle Road has another angel looking down on it...
