Sincere condolences to his Sister in law Kathleen. His many Nieces and nephews and all the extended Travers Family on the death of Monsignor Charlie.He was a very pleasant kind and a lovely Man. A fantastic Priest to everyone who was greatly loved and will be sadly missed. He never forgot his O'Dowd Cousins and he attended all their Funeral Masses etc when ever he could.
When I was unveiling the Plaque in Nov 2007 to honour the generosity of Frank and Beatrice O'Dowd my cousins of Railway Bar, Elphin St, Boyle who donated their land free in 1953 for St Marys Secondary College Boyle. He attended the special Mass to support me. He knew Frank and Beatrice RIP very well. He said many Masses for me and my family and I will miss him so very much..May the light of Heaven shine on his soul. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam dilis.

It was with deep sadness we heard of Monsignor Traver’s death. What a privilege it was to have him in Roscommon parish since 1987. During those years he made many visits to my barbershop, where he always engaged with everyone, young and old. He was a great man to remember first names. He touched, moved and inspired all of us. In his company one always knew he was deeply spiritual, and at peace with himself and the world. The world is a sadder place because of his loss. To his family, parishioners, clergymen and many friends he made everywhere he went; our deepest sympathy to all of you. May God have mercy on his gentle soul, and May he rest in eternal peace. Thank God for the wonderful memories of the Monsignor we loved. .

A colossus of divinity, a credit to his calling, Rev Charlie was a very good and faithful friend to me and to our family, he had such an engaging, warm and powerful presence wherever he entered and showed wonderful empathy with matters relating to people at all levels.
He worked very closely with us in the Lions club and contributed support and encouragement to the establishment of the now very successful QUAD youth center in the town, he was rightly so proud of its inception as it was very close to his heart.

A privilege to have had him as a friend and confidant and he will be sorely missed by all of us,

May his noble and gentle soul enjoy a very well earned peaceful rest.

So sorry to hear of the death of Charlie ,he had a long life and fulfilled life and was a rock that his extended family leaned on .he was a true clergyman who was always available to attend any gathering at a moment’s notice .
He was the last of his family to leave us and I for one will miss him,I am sorry that through circumstances I am unable to attend today.
