It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we learned about the passing away of Rufina Hecksher, my dear auntie and second mother, of whom I have very fond memory of growing up with my cousins Percy, Rodney, Honeybell and Jason under her loving care in Port Harcourt and Sapele Township.
She tended to her beloved late husband with devotion and affection and to us with motherly love and attentive care. To the extended Okpu family, she was an agreeable, easy going and lovable person, full of kindness and generous to a fault. She loved her extended family members as she loved her own family and never failed to help or extend a helping hand to a family member in need.
In all aspects, auntie Rufina was an exceptional person whose loving memory will live forever in the hearts of her beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as in the hearts of those fortunate to have been touched by her love, kindness and generosity.
Dear Percy, Rodney and Hechsher family, sending Condolences on Your Loss. Times like this bring thoughts of you, and with each thought a prayer that God will bless you day by day and give you the strength to bear your grief and overcome your loss.

Sincerest condolences on behalf of the Roche family on the sad occasion of Rufina’s death. She was always an inspiration to me, ever since I was a teenager visiting her home in Glenageary whilst she was downstairs sewing and designing with Honey-belle and the other guests were upstairs enjoying John’s Fishing anecdotes from Connemara.
