It has taken me a few days to fully absorb the heartbreaking news and reality of Ruth’s passing and to find the words for such a tragic and devastating loss.

Ruth was one of my very favourite - and most talented - colleagues. I will always remember her sunny demeanour, her beautiful smile and the fun we shared as in-house legal counsel at Skandia, and afterwards. It is hard to fathom that someone so kind, warm and caring has left us far too soon.

My heart goes out to her beloved Jer and adored children, the whole Tiernan and Staunton families and all who loved Ruth. You have been constantly in my thoughts and prayers.

May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Ruth at Intelligo and was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. Ruth was an amazing colleague, mentor, and friend — an exceptionally professional and knowledgeable Solicitor who was always willing to help, no matter the question or need, and who did so with unfailing kindness.

Ruth’s warmth and caring nature were immediately evident to everyone who knew her. I always enjoyed our conversations; she brought such positivity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love of life to every interaction. That shone through most when she spoke about her family and her plans with them, especially her much loved trips to Kilkee.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time.

There are no words to convey the tragedy of this loss.

Ruth was a special soul who radiated a deep goodness and love. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered. All of our thoughts are with her heartbroken family and friends.

My earliest memory of Ruth is from when she was about 13 years old, sitting at the piano, with the sheet music to REM's song 'Nightswimming' perched in front of her and its melody in the air.
