Sam was a great family man and took great interest in the lives of everybody he knew and dealt with. Sam was a brilliant farmer and equally as good at repairs and maintenance and always worked as if it was his hobby.
Sam was a pleasure to work for and when you got to his yard no matter how busy he was you got greeted with, 'How's it going lad!, a bit of a chat and 'Give me a shout if you need anything'! Sam was always very positive about everything and this helped everybody that worked there to do their job.
If there was a troublesome job to be done and you'd say to Sam 'How are we going to do that?', he'd just say, 'Don't worry lad we will get there', and we always did.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of an old school friend. I have fond memories of Sam during our school days at Reenascreena NS, where we served as alter boys in Carrigfadda church and made our First Communion and Confirmation together. We had great times but unfortunately through the passage of time, our lives went seperate ways.
