I met Sam when he attended a Tutor Course in Limerick. He made a positive and lasting impression on everyone. His kind, humble manner and gentle smile did as much to teach us about coaching than any of the references we used. It was always a pleasure to meet and chat with him thereafter. My sympathy to his family and many friends.

May Sam rest in peace and may he find Philip waiting for him to escort him home.
To Anita, Theresa, the boys and all of Sam's family, our heartfelt sympathies for your loss.
Your husband, father (grandfather) was a very very special man.
We have been lucky to have experienced him, his liveliness and his teachings.
It is very rare for a person to achieve recognition in martial arts; it is simply too difficult
for most. To achieve recognition at a national level is remarkable, to achieve it globally is
phenomenal. Grandmaster Sam Lee was a phenomenon.
It has been an honour and privilege to witness the live-display of this knowledge and skill, to have
him standing beside us week after week, year after year (decade after decade in some cases) guiding us,
honing our skills - indeed 'cultivating' us as he often termed it.
Your husband, Dad and grandfather's teachings often led to serendipitous happenings in our lives.
One such happening was the finding of this quote from a film the title of which is very fitting but
shall remain unnamed ("don't tell them too much"):
"My father's people say that at the birth of the sun,
and his brother the moon, their mother died.
So the sun gave to the earth her body,
from which was to spring all life.
And he drew forth from her breast the stars.
The stars he threw into the night sky
to remind him of her soul."
We will be looking to the night sky for you Sam.
