To say Sam was loved in our household is an understatement. When Sam first moved in next door around 12 years ago, our children already knew this tall handsome lad and the daily joy he was about to unleash upon us all. Wow, did our Sam not half deliver on those special gifts of his. Every day with him was like a pantomime. He brought light to any darkness, smiles to the hardest faces making our lives so much better and happier with his madcap antics, lightening wit, singing and that 'basketball' sized heart of gold. I cant remember a minute of misery in Sam's presence over these past 12 years. He would be out the front either in his work-gear, dressed to the nines or in his flashy nightgown...like a prince....knocking sparks out of his phone or one of his many visiting friends who loved him just as much as we did.
People like Sam are rare but essential in our lives; they lighten the moment and entertain us every day making problems and worries fade or even disappear. The sheer number of people today who released balloons is a measure of how much he was loved in this world. We miss him dearly and will forever cherish every minute of the immense effect he had on our lives.
You may be gone from our lives Sam but never from our hearts. X
