Once a French student staying for the summer with the Hickey family some fourty years ago, I never forgot the lovely sweet and gentle little girl she was.

Sam, I will forever miss you. You were an amazing woman who believed in the good in everyone. You tried to make anyone you met feel special which is a unique quality in a person. I will spend my life telling people about you. Thank you for all you did and gave to our family and how you loved us. We were blessed. I was and always will be honored to be part of your family. During her years of volunteering with Aware, she supported hundreds of people in the community with her gentle empathy and caring. I’ll remember her love of a great giggle and hugs and her tales of her cat. She brought smiles and warmth. A beautiful spirit and a life so well lived. Blessings.
