I'm very sorry to learn tonight of the death of Sammy Hunter as a result of a R.T.A. I have fond memories of throwing the 56 lbs weight, (with no chance of success) against him and his brother Roy, down on the Green opposite Anton Micí's Pub in Downings at the start of the 1970s. They could 'fling' the 56, like it was a woman's handbag. Pure, naturally-acquired strength. Humble men. May Sammy Rest in Peace.
