I loved the way Sam loved life. He had a twinkle in his smile that led you to believe he knows something more than you think. He probably did. Sam was extremely well-read and conversant in myriad topics. I loved the way Sammy loved his family and showed it in ways most men can't. I lift my glass to you, Sam Hurley. I hope the angels can keep you entertained.

So sorry for your loss, Emily and the Hurley family.

Little did we know that our great work colleague Emily would lose her dear dad Samuel on the same day as my mother Mabel passed.
Ironically their funerals will take place at the same time on Wednesday. Samuel lived in the shadow of St Mathews on Blackditch road in Ballyfermot where Mabel will be buried from. We will think of him. Emily is a great ,lively funny work colleague who spoke often of her dad and his health struggle. It’s been a tough few years for so many. RIP
