Bunclody has lost one of its characters. Growing up in the town about 20 years ago, I visited Sarah, or the 'potato lady' as she was fondly referred to as in our house, very often as my mam would buy from her cart on Market Square. Herself and Tommy seemed to be a permanent fixture on the Square, either sitting in the potato cart, sitting in Tommys van, or standing at the corner at Loftuses pharmacy watching the world go by and chatting to other residents of the town. It is hard to imagine Bunclody without Sarah and Tommy.

Sarah I am sad to hear you have passed on to the next life but I am happy for you that you are reunited with your beloved husband and baby son. May you rest in peace and may God reward you for your hard work and service to the people of Bunclody over the years. Now its time to rest together with your baby boy in your arms for eternity.

So sad to hear of Sarah’s passing. Tom and Sarah were just a lovely couple.
