Really sorry to hear about the passing of Seamus. We were neighbours on the mountain in Ballinafad. He was a great neighbour and we enjoyed the chats on the road when we met with him. May he rest in peace!

He was a real gentleman and a loyal and trusted colleague, rightly proud of his transport heritage from the start of his career in the Great Northern Railway. Deepest sympathy to Pat and the wider Camplisson family. I had the joy and privilege of working with Seamus in Bus Eireann many year ago. He was the kindest person, and the ideal mentor for someone who was just joining the "CIE family". He shared his knowledge and skills in the most generous way, and just radiated warmth and kindness to everyone lucky enough to know him. I have so many happy memories of working with him, and he had so many funny stories that I still repeat to my family now- I think it says a lot that, although they never knew him, and one wasn't even born when I worked with him, they all know his name and how important a mentor and colleague he was to me- even 30 years later.
May he rest in peace and as one person commented earlier on this site- heaven will most definitely be a more organized place now.

Dear Pat, my family and I are very saddened by the passing of your beloved Seamus. I have watched his funeral mass online and the eulogy was a fitting tribute to him who enriched the life of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was an asset to this parish and community. Austin and I valued his friendship, kindness and help.very much. They were firm friends and if the Lord needs any "meal mixing" he now has 2 pairs of hands to do it. My girls and I send our deepest sympathy to you and family, Grandchildren,his sisters and extended family. It is a cause of great regret to me that due to illness I could not say goodbye in person but I'm so Grateful to Siobhan for the arrangement she made for me. Without his help I would have to abandon the organ and choir much earlier. He will be sorely missed. And now to you Seamus I say "farewell my trusty friend" until we.meet again.........
