May Seamus rest in peace. We made the journey to St. Luke’s a few times and I’m sad to hear he died. Rest easy Seamus, a gentleman.

Sincere condolences to Kathleen, Pauline, Sean and the extended Connolly family at this very sad time. Seamus and I were classmates at the CBS. As both of us lived on the Point Road we would usually cycle together to and from school. Seamus will be remembered as a lad who brought an infectious enthusiasm to his many and varied interests,eg taking the leading role in the school's drama entry for the Feis; playing his accordian at every opportunity; training with the FCA; setting up the Dundalk Scientific Society and writing regularly as Gaeilge for the Inniu newspaper. It was hard to keep up with him! On leaving school we lost touch for many years. When he retired, after a distinguished career in medical research, he returned to Dundalk and reconnected with many of his old classmates. We would meet regularly for coffee and Seamus, always reluctant to talk about his own achievements, was happiest chatting about our schooldays and the changing world around us. We will miss him.

His picture is appropriate, as he constantly endeavoured to improve his knowledge through study and gained degrees in medical science, he was a medical laboratory scientist at St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin 4 until his retirement from the haematology department.
