Very sincere sympathy to all the O'Shea family on the sad death of Séamus. I too knew him as a fellow Trá na bhForbacha walker. We had lovely conversations in all weathers - in the morning sunshine and as he took shelter in his car on the wet days. I have missed his presence there over the last few months. I think of him these mornings on the beach, say a prayer for him and remember I am walking on his footsteps. Codlagh sámh, Séamus.

From 1994-97, I completed an MSc under Séamus' supervision.
In '97, we presented at a conference in China (Xi'an) and saw a few sights together.
We kept in touch. He was a true gentleman and I was very sad to hear of his passing.

Very sorry to all of Seamus’s family for your loss. I have very fond memories of our football matches on your lawn in the 1980’s and more recently my chats with Séamus when I’d return to Galway for a visit. A true gentleman for sure and a very good neighbour.
