Seamus Mannion

I was shocked and saddened to learn the sad news about the death of Seamus. May he rest in eternal peace.

My deepest condolences to his wife Suzanne, his children Thomas and Shauna, sisters Marie (Bourke), Triona (Sweeney), his brothers Pat, Declan and Paul, and all of his other relatives and friends.

Seamus was always very friendly and witty whenever I met him. He was a larger than life character, with a great sense of humour, and a contagious smile.

You all have my deepest sympathy, and are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

I was very sorry to hear the sad news of the death of Seamus RIP. He was always friendly and warm when I met him in Clifden and I remember how kind he was to my Mam when he had the butcher shop - he always had time for a chat.

Many of my oldest memories is the welcome we would get when we arrived in Clifden late in the evening after the long journey from Dublin when I was very young. Seamus was always part of it. Always laughing and smiling. Always a funny story to tell. My Dad loved Seamus a lot.

Great memories of him being so nice to me when I was growing up, meeting him in The Butcher Shop.
When I worked in Foyle's indeed all along the way.
My late mother always had a special place in her heart for Seamus as did all who knew him.
He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered.

We want to offer our condolences to Seamus's wife Suzanne, to his children, and to the whole Mannion family on Seamus's death. I attended St. Jarlaths with Seamus and Tommy Rua in the 1970s. Since this sad news came to me I've found myself returned to fond memories of them both from that time, but most of all I remember a lovely summer's day in the late 80s getting a lift from Seamus in his car with all the windows down. I think we laughed all the way from Clifden to Ballyconneely while he stopped about five times to talk to people. He had great character and charm. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear the passing of Seamus.
Was a classmate of Seamus in SJC Tuam. We shared the same dormitory in our Inter Cert year of 76. I particularly remember Seamus with his big Boombox cassette player playing at full throttle and giving us all an education in the dormitory in music from the Rolling Stones, Zed Zeppelin and ever time I hear Bowie's singing "Ground Control to Major Tom" I think back to that dormitory and Seamus.
Lost touch with Seamus after our Inter Cert but have fond memories of our time together at SJC.
