Seamus Marrinan

Belated sympathies to all of Seamus's sons and daughters and all of your families on the sudden passing of Seamus, back in early January.

I had met Seamus just before Christmas in Castlebar and we had a nice chat on football and related matters.

I always remember seeing him in the Hogan Stand in Croke Park a number of years ago, supporting his son-in-law Gerry & the Abbeyknockmoy Team, in the All-Ireland Intermediate hurling final. We often chatted subsequently on that narrow defeat.

A lovely man and great supporter of our Gaelic games, may his gentle soul rest in peace.

Very sorry to hear of the death of a good friend, Seamus RIP. We went to school together in Castlebar in the 60's and kept in contact over the years. Glad that we met up for a coffee in December, when I was up from Limerick. Unfortunately, I couldn't travel to the funeral, as we are snow bound in west Limerick and no power.
