My most heartfelt condolences and thoughts are with the extended Mooney Family and residents of Kilbride who knew Seamus, My Late Father (Shay) worked for Seamus many years ago and i used to talk to Seamus quite often when i worked in Musgraves. He was always a true Gentleman and a very kind and polite person, often told me how much i was alike my Father as he spoke fondly of him. (Which i will be eternally grateful for)

I offer my sympathy to Josephine, Roger, Cathy, Siobhán, Áine and Aishling in this somewhat belated message of condolence; to Breda and indeed to all who mourn Seamus. Fortunately, still standing, I got to sing at the Funeral Mass, an engagement that Seamus Eustace, Rosemary Fennell or Shay Fitzsimons all of Mooney’s Upstairs fame, were they still here with us, might easily have taken on. While the Sunday night entertainment and lounge activity contributed to something of an MKB community focal point, the welcoming and long since gone inhabitants of the bar more than did their bit too in the vibrant life of that time. Meanwhile upstairs Noel Bealin was busy every week in his ambassadorial role guiding his very new neighbours to Mecca. May Seamus rest in peace after all his years and the unique community service he provided whether he got to realise it or not.

Rest in peace, Seamus. I was very lucky to call you a mentor and a friend. You’ll be dearly missed.

I was so saddened to hear of Seamus' passing. The sorrow of this moment though, takes me back to incredibly happy memories of times spent in his company and that of his family.
I had many great days out in Manor Kilbride and I have nothing but laughter and joy from that time to draw on now.

Myself and Seamus also spent a great night out in what was called 'The Point' back then. In March 1996 we went to see Wayne McCullough fight a very tough Mexican as I recall and I will forever cherish the memory of that evening. Although we no doubt threw several 'shadow' punches from the comfort of our seats, both myself and Seamus came away from having watched a very bruising contest with the final confirmation that we had made the right decision not to have become prize fighters.

My heartfelt condolences are with my dear friend Siobhan and all of the family at this time. Much love.

I was so sorry to hear of Seamus,s passing he was a true gentleman. I had the pleasure of working for Seamus some 48 years ago and still remember to this day how kind and gentle he was. I have many fond memories of Seamus and I will hold on to them all until we meet again. I am thinking of you Josephine as I type and reminiscing about Mooney's Pub and my own youth.
