Seamus O'Hickey

I knew Seamus when he was a tutor in the dental hospital for a number of years. He was such a warm, funny and interesting man, made me laugh. Rest in peace dear Seamus, sympathies to all his family.

It brings a tear to my eye to learn of Seamus' passing and also brings warmth to my heart at the same time. I feel lucky to have known such a wonderful man! From my childhood, on his trips to the United States, I would anticipate his arrivals to meet my Father. I often hijacked calls to and from Seamus, his calls were always lively, energetic, and full of craic.

I pray everyone lucky enough to know Seamus has the ability to turn tears of sadness into joy as they fondly remember the wonderful person he was. May he rest in peace!

Deepest sympathies to the entire O'Hickey clan on the loss of Seamus. He was a kind, intelligent, and decent man that meant so much to your family. Take some comfort in the fact that he was able to have such a deep, lasting and meaningful impact on the lives of your entire family.

My deepest sympathy to the family. The world without Seamus is a lesser place. i was the other student when he was doing his masters at the London University. We shared an office famous for its pipe smoke. As the junior, I learned so much from his wisdom and wit. And I wasn't alone.

Seamus was a genius of a type that is hard to find nowadays. Like his brother Mathún, he was witty, sceptical, hilariously amused by the oddities of life, of his extended family, and of the history of Ireland, which he loved. When I met him I had the sensation of meeting my own father, Jimmy, whom he remembered fondly. He will be greatly missed.

A wonderful friend and mentor who saw me through many tricky problems.
