My deepest sympathies to Seamus’s family. I am so sad to hear of his passing. Seamus was one of life’s true gentlemen. I worked with him in IDB for a number of years and always remember how he was so helpful and pleasant and had so many great stories to tell. May his gentle soul rest in peace

We met him each year at our Cemetery day in Kilcullen
May he rest in peace
Condolences to the Orford family, and to his many friends. Like other colleagues in the Irish Dairy Board, Seamus was one of the first people I met when I Joined the Kerrygold team. From the start he was friendly, helpful. Over the years we soldiered together at food fairs all over Europe. He managed all the stands and the people selected to work on them. He did this without fuss, always smiling. They always became his friends. We enjoyed a correspondence over many years based on WhatsApp, and what I remember is the chuckling sense of humour in his writing and the fun he had playing with smileys. There are not many people to whom one can apply the adjective “only good” without reservation. That was Seamus. May he rest in peace.

We all mourn the loss of a truly remarkable soul. I was a colleague of Seamus in the Irish Dairy Board for many years.

Seamus applied high-standards and quality to everything he did, had a great touch of humor, respect for others, compassion, and an immense love of everyone who crossed his path over so many years in the Irish dairy industry and especially all those customers he met at the international trade fairs that he organised.

Rest in peace Seamus. You will be deeply missed but forever remembered.

Saddened to hear of Seamus' passing. I sat next to Seamus in the early part of my career and learnt so much from him, not just work however in the true nature of how to interact with people and always doing everything possible to get the job done. A true gentleman, may he rest in peace.
Dear Mary, the Orford and Dowling families, Seamus’s friends, and his former IDB colleagues,

Helen and I were immediate neighbours of Seamus for 31 years in Shrewsbury Park, and we wish to extend our deepest sympathy and condolences.

Seamus was a man of great respect and kindness. He often spoke fondly of his time with the Irish Dairy Board, recalling happy days and valued colleagues. Less widely known, perhaps, was his deep love of horse racing. His encyclopaedic knowledge of the sport — reflected in the extensive library he kept — was truly remarkable. He was also a regular churchgoer and a firm believer in St. Anthony.

The void left by his passing will be deeply felt. We will miss the nod, the wave, and the occasional visit.

May he rest in peace. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Helen and Donal Linehan

Deepest sympathy on the passing of Seamus . An absolute gentleman and a lifeline for those of us boarding in Newbridge College in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s with his generosity acting as a courier between the shops “ up town “ and the empty stomachs awaiting his daily arrival .
God Bless you Seamus , you were and remained a true pal until the day you died . All of us delighted at your Newbridge College , Class of ‘62 , reunion attendances - you never missed one but all of us will definitely miss you . Rest in Peace .
