I was saddened to learn of the unexpected death of our former Thurles Croke AC team-mate Seamus Rafter. A runner of considerable potential, Seamus made a number of appearances at an early age with the successful senior team of the mid 1980s, but appears to have drifted away from the sport in the years thereafter. Sincere sympathy to those bereaved by his premature passing; RIP.

Fond memories of my time working in The Sceilp with Seamus, Statia and family. Rest in peace big man.

It is with great shock and deep sadness that we find ourselves paying tribute to Seamus on his untimely passing.
We will miss the conversation, the latest hurling news and not to mention the jokes and anecdotes down in the Sceilp.
