So very sorry to learn of Seamus’s sad passing. To me a legend in his steadfastness to left held ideology throughout his long and fruitful life. The most principled, honourable, courteous and decent man it was my privilege to know, though me met on just a few occasions. The world is a much poorer place now that he has passed on. I wish to offer my sincere sympathy to his beloved wife Teresa, daughter Rosemary and to the extended Rodger’s and O’ Donnell families on their most grievous loss. May his kind and gentle spirit live on through the ages in all who knew him.

A huge loss to all who knew him, Seamus was a tireless campaigner over many decades and made a great contribution to politics and to his community. I saw first hand on many occasions at meetings in Glenties, at party conferences and political gatherings how he was committed to his beliefs and no matter what part of the country Seamus would be there to meet fellow campaigners and comrades. It was my pleasure to know him, may he rest in peace.

We are saddened to learn of Seamus’s passing. He was always a courteous and kind gentleman.
We have fond memories of accompanying Seamus as part of the Donegal County Council delegation that traveled to New York and Philadelphia for St Patrick’s Day events in 1997.

I never met Seamus but my late mother who was very non political, always spoke fondly of him and often pointed out that he was genuine, hard working and helpful individual.
He must have been very special.
