I was terribly upset to hear of this tragedy having only spoken to Seamus recently. Please accept by condolences. Brian O'Shea, WICKLOW
Please accept my condolences. I knew Seamus briefly - we worked together in Brussels this year for an EU evaluation. He struck me as a kind, gentle, funny man. Everyone on the EU team is shocked and saddened by the news. I wish his family the very best at this difficult time.
I am so sorry to hear the sad news about Seamus.
A huge loss to you, the children and to Kilkenny psychiatry.

I remember our days training in St. Pats and then later studying for our exams together fondly. Seamus you were kind, funny measured, well read and an absolute gentleman. Aoife it just seems so unfair - we are devastated for your loss and our sincerest condolences to you and your family .
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Seamus’ untimely passing. He is a pillar of my childhood memories of school, with his early genius at maths and his talent with the English language, the powers of his imagination were impressive even then. We were never in contact since but we chose similar vocations and in recent years I had learned of his published stories and that came as no surprise to me. I read some of them and they were captivating. My heart goes out to his wife and children... the world has lost a shining soul. Mo chomhbhrón libh go léir ag an trócaire ama seo. - Dr Hilary R Nash (née Buttle) St Theresas Primary School, Dublin, class of 1990
Séamus was a gentle giant and a genius, always so respectful of his patients and colleagues and so unassuming of the hugely positive impact his kindness and brilliance had on others. I consider it a privilege to have known and worked with him and to have learned from his integrity. The loss for his family, community and the HSE is immeasurable.
Deepest sympathy to Aoife and family at this very sad time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
