Sincerest sympathy to the Tinney family Grahamsland, on the death of their brother Seamus, may he rest in peace

My main recollections of Seamus and his sweet mum were on our paper round as children - every night they'd also be sure to give you a few pence as a tip. We'd race to his house as it was guaranteed. Seamus passed by our home & shop several times each day enroute to work or lunch with Willie Hayes heading for the clonleigh co-op n I honestly can't ever remember him without that infectious smile n genuine warm greeting and friendly words. He was a true stalwart of the Clonleigh and Sunday Mass near the back rows. Last year when watching RTE news in Mullingar what a fantastic surprise I got seeing Seamus being interviewed about saving our local post office no better buachaill....... I was so saddened to hear of his illness recently from family. What warranted fond memories everyone has of Seamus in his wide and far reaching condolences below. I doubt if ever a bad word was said of him. I'll never forget his smile. Sleep well gentle Seamus our loss heavens gain!

So sad about Seamus’s passing. Lovely kind and friendly man. Always a pleasure to meet and full of stories of years ago.,
He will be so missed in Castlefin.

A true gentleman has departed this earth. Seamus was good company with a wealth of knowledge. As a member of our club he was the go to person for knowledge of past events in Castlefinn. Seamus could recall with ease, the the location of businesses, shops and people, some of the people Long gone or emigrated. From his vast fount of memories Seamus would often Regale everyone with funny stories about people and events. We are grateful for the privilege of having him as a member of our club, we have lost a valued history buff and true friend. We send our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to the Tinney family.
