Sean will be greatly missed by all in Mountrath, a legend in his own right, a wonderful raconteur matched to a sharp wit and good humour, always a thought for the day. So very sad he has left us behind. May Sean have a heavenly ascent RIP

A lovely man, I initially remember him working in Hargroves shop where he was dapper, enthusiastic and professional in everything he did. In later years, whenever passing through the town, I would be disappointed if I didn't see Seán out and about on his various errands or chatting with people - he was like the unofficial ambassador of the town of Mountrath! He devoted himself in looking after the Hargroves boys in helping Betty Carter which is a credit to them both and working so hard in Hargroves shop. It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Sean. We would like to express our sincere sympathy to the Dooley family. From the first day I arrived in Mountrath Seán was always such a friendly, welcoming gentleman. Every night he would arrive at Mai’s to lock up and make sure that everything was as it should be. You could set your clock by him. I had many a great chat and laugh with him. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace and free from pain.
