So sorry to hear of my cousin Sean’s passing we lost touch and have been trying to make contact for so long to the Gilmartins side of family ...... so sad ......Rosaleen and family condolence may Sean rest in peace

So sorry to hear of Sean's passing.
Every memory I have of working with Sean or meeting him is of a warm and engaging man. My sincere sympathies to all his family.

Sean was always lively company and enthusiastic about many things - condolences to the family.

Sean was a good friend & great company , his enthusism knew no bounds,and did not suffers fools

I knew Sean, or Gilly as we all knew him, from his days in Dept of P&T / Telecom Eireann.
Gilly was unique. He was "one off "character with a great sense of humour and stories of his work exploits alone are legend. It was always a pleasure to meet him, and I will cherish the memories. May he rest in peace

From the moment we first met in 1987, Seán was like my own personal shaman. He wore his wisdom so lightly and was unstintingly generous with it to boot.
His boundless energy and enthusiasm for life makes his absence even more keenly felt.

So sorry to hear of Seán's passing. Our sincerest condolences to his family and friends. His OPW friends at the Boyne Valley sites will miss him and remember him with great fondness.

Sean will be sadly missed by many. His wisdom, knowledge and love of ancient Ireland and wonderful sense of humour endeared him to all. My condolences to Rosaleen and Sean's family.

Devastated to hear of Sean's death. Sean was an amazing man....he carried us all over the country exploring antiquities, monuments, passage graves, sheela na gigs, carvings, holy wells - his knowledge of the land and enthusiasm was fantastic. I hope someone will edit and publish his book. Last time we met was at a ceremony at Huntington Castle.....we didn't chat long, and I hoped to meet Sean and Rosaleen again sooner in future. I send heartfelt condolences to his famly and other friends. We have to be glad we had him as long as we did, and hope he moves on to a blissful new dimension where Pat, Bizzie, Padraig and so many other sensitive people have gone before him.....
