I worked with him in Teagasc in the early 70"s. He was absolutely one of natures gentlemen.
He was so kind and generous to those of us from the country living in flats.. if you were on his route you got a lift to and from work every day. It was lovely to be collected in the black Beetle on many a wet and wintery morning.

I would like to pass on my condolences to Caroline and the Gilroy family at this sad time. I first worked with Sean in Acot in Blackrock before the move to Sandymount Ave following the merger with AFT and the establishment of Teagasc. He was my mentor from the first day I met him in 1985 to the last day. Even at his retirement party he took the time to give me one last piece of important advice (which subsequently served me very well). I owe him a lot for the wisdom and counsel he shared and most importantly, for his friendship and support. A true gentleman.

Such sad news. I worked with 'de Giller' in An Foras Taluntais and Teagasc and a few of us retirees would get together for lunch twice a year. However, Covid19 put an end to such events. He was alway a perfect gentleman. My sincere sympathy to Sean's family.
