We are both so sorry to hear of Sean’s passing. I always loved the chat with him on hurling ( my Cork roots ) and he always got into the gritty detail of matches. A true gentleman. If I met him in Dunnes the shopping was never done . We would chat for ages. Rest in peace Sean !.

Our sincere condolences to Gerard, Micheál, Anne-Marie, Siobhan and the extended families on the death of your dad Sean. Mr. Davin played a significant part in my life having been his student for 4 great memorable years from age 9. Getting a wonderful well rounded education in those early years still stands to me to this day.
Well do I remember him hanging the map of the world on the wall and proceeding to show how the cold war was shaping world politics, and particularly how the Russians and Chinese were trying to spread communism throughout South East Asia beginning with Vietnam. He stood tall with a no nonsense demeanour and exuded confidence which in turn rubbed off on his students. It is people like Mr Davin who in their own unique way have made our land of "Saints and Scholars" such a wonderful place to live. I was very fortunate to have gone mitching to Sean's house in May and we had an hour long discussion about bye-gone days and how he was coping with Mary's passing, we even joked about him living to be 100. The moral of the story is that we should grab the moment and relish it, for tomorrow is not guaranteed for anyone. Rest in peace Dear Sean and enjoy your reunion with Mary at the pearly gates.
