Absoutley devastated to hear about Sean. We began dialysis together and he was great company for me on the ward. Irene I am broken hearted for you and your family. He was such a gentleman and your devotion to him unwavering. I hope he continues to watch over us all and keep heaven entertained. All our love and thoughts and prayers. On behalf of the players,management andsupporters of Dundalk Football Club I extend our most sincere sympathy to Sean's wife,Irene ,his mother, sisters and brothers on his death,.Sean served the club well during his brief reign as manager and the fruit of his efforts were that players he brought to the club played a vital role in club's success over the past 3 years, Personally I have known Sean for many years and it can be said that his commitment and dedication to the development of young players ,both on and off the field was perhaps the most unselfish characteristic of his nature. May he rest in peace.

My Deepest Sympathy to Irene and all the Mc Caffrey family on their great loss, as an FAI Football Referee many is the time I crossed Sean's path,however once the final whistle was blown Sean never allowed the outcome of any game from Grassroots to Senior level to impinge on our Friendship, which I am proud to say, endured for over thirty years. The Man above now has an excellent Football coach to look after his team. Rest in Peace, Sean
