Condolences on your great loss.

I would like to share a memory of Sean. When I was 10 years old, my family spent a week's holiday in Dunmore House in Clonakilty in 1977. On one of the evenings, Sean gave a marvellous performance . Later that week, Kerry and Dublin played a classic All-Ireland semi-final during a golden era for GAA. I look back on that holiday with great fondness and Sean is woven into the fabric of that reminiscence.

Sean's distinctive voice and wonderful tones created many fabulous visions, related to Irish culture. He is now reunited with his wife in the embrace of God.

To Sean's extended family. I was so sorry to hear of your dad and granddad passing.
He taught my brothers a long time ago in the Cathedral school, long since closed. But my mum never forgot his kindness to bring my brother David home when he used not be able to get his breath from asthma. David loved school, and he used to be so "arty" with his hands that Sean asked him to make a string art of a butterfly and a leaf for him, which he did. I smiled to myself as they now share the same anniversary and perhaps greeted eachother on the heavenly road as friends.
He was never forgotten by us. May he rest in peace. And God bless you all.

In 2008 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of St. Colman's College, Fermoy, Seán performed at a concert in SCC accompanied by the legendary Na Filí. It was a truly memorable occasion and was the cultural highlight of the celebrations. As usual Seán brought his unique talent and style to the concert and we were very grateful for his presence. It was with great sadness that we heard of the death of your dear dad.
We send our sincere and dearest sympathy to all the Ó Sé family on Séan’s passing. He was a man of many great talents - a singer, storyteller and a wonderful stage performer. He came to our annual Festival in Ballintogher on three occasions with his musical friends and singer - 2009 with Martin Donohoe and Seamus Fay in 2012 also with Martin and Cavan and Seamus Fay and his last visit was in 2018 again with Martin Donohoe. They were wonderful memory nights hearing about the stories of Ballylickey and other places - which will remain with us forever. We had many other very enjoyable Comhaltas encounters with Sean – tours, concerts etc. during his lifetime. He has left a wonderful legacy which will continue to live on through his family and friends. May God give the family strength to bear their sad loss. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all at this sad time. May he now rest in heavenly peace with his beloved wife Eileen and other family members - his singing and musical friends that have gone before him.

Many years ago Sean gave great happiness to my Mum and Dad and I when he said for us in the Sceilig Hotel. What an amazing man, so gifted.

Our heartfelt condolences to the extended O'Sé family on the loss of Seán. He provided the sound track to our childhood when he performed at the Ouvane Falls, Ballylickey. Word would go out that the Pocair was in and many a great night was had! He always had a word with our grandmother May (Glannie) O' Leary. In more recent years we had the pleasure of hearing him sing in the Opera House- he nearly lifted the roof with Carrickfergus. What a voice and what a performer. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

To the Ó Sé family, my sincerest condolences on the passing of Seán. I have so many treasured memories having had the privilege of sharing a stage with him on a number of occasions. While he was one of Ireland’s most renowned singers and cultural ambassadors, I will always remember Seán for his kindness and humility. His rare gift of connecting with his audience was phenomenal, and he was a story teller like no other, and so full of fun.

I hope you find comfort in the stories, memories and profound legacy Seán leaves behind. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

It's well I remember Seán singing An poc ar buille on Raidió Éireann when I'd be getting ready for national school in Leitrim long ago. It put a spring in my step for the day ahead. A song you didn't forget.

He was a wonderful, jovial, and kind-hearted man whose company was always lively and so enjoyable. Seán was an exceptional singer and storyteller. His loss to the singing world is immense, but his loss to you, his family, is far greater. Seán was a great CCE man and was a member of our branch in the early years. He was the MC for our 60th anniversary and was so professional and kind to all involved. Seán was larger than life and will live on in our memories forever.

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Sean a number of years ago, by a mutual friend (the late Bob Spring), on a Summer evening in Ballinlough. Most recently I was sitting beside Sean at the 2024 Cork SFC Final in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, involving Castlehaven v. Nemo Rangers. We had a lovely conversation and at the finish he congratulated me on Castlehaven's victory.
Sean was a wonderful entertainer and a perfect gentleman.

Deep sympathy to the family of the late Sean O Se on the death of that great man.
While I like many others, enjoyed his wonderful rendering of An Poc ar Builla, how he would have enjoyed its repeated rendering on two consecutive Sundays at Croke Park, following the victories of both An Gaeltacht and Daingan ni Chuis.
My reason for really remembering Sean is to register and recall the wonderful happiness that he always gave my late mother, in the 1970s, when he would pay his yearly trip to sing on stage at Market Street Listowel, on the Thursday of Listowel Races. At the time, my mother, born, 1901, was a frail gentle woman but would not miss her trip, down town, to see Sean. The fact that Kerry were so dominant in that decade was not lost on Sean, and as a Corkman he would have enjoyed singing that, An Poc anthem, especially on the years, that Sam was hoisted high, as the Kerry team cavalcade passed the stage on which Sean was singing.
Thank you Sean for making my elderly mother a very happy woman.
