I recall my dear uncle Tim(RIP) telling me that when they were then seeking a teacher he and Jim Lyons((RIP) called to Sean at his dad s farm in Dromcolllogher.. They saw a young Sean bringing buckets of milk to the tank for his dad . Seeing the nature of this then young man they turned to each other and said “ that s our man “ . From that “interview”Sean spent the rest of his teaching life in that wonderful school Colaiste Phadraig., Castleisland .That little story says so much about those 3 wonderful educators so highly respected by so many .

Sean was an absolute gentleman and was an excellent host on all the many, many occasions I visited your house on upper Main St. An extremely intelligent man, he was brilliantly quick witted and never short of something appropriate to say. I remember him once correcting my (poorly) declension of latin verbs while driving us into Tralee! Also thinking of your mum Noreen during this time and it is reassuring to know that they are now reunited.

Sincere condolences to Eoin,Ellen and Michael on the sad loss of your father Sean. In the 1970s he taught me Science, Maths and Physics in St Pats. He was an inspirational teacher who helped many students achieve the academic grades needed to follow their chosen career path. When teaching Maths he was able to draw freehand a perfect circle on the blackboard and would then stand back admiring it while challenging any student to beat it ! Of course, there were no challengers as we all knew we could never match the perfect circle. He was also a passionate rugby fan and often used terms such as "the player's momentum " when teaching Physics. Sean and his colleague Jim Lyons were two wonderful teachers in St Pats who helped countless students over many years and will not be forgotten by myself and many other past pupils.
