A proper gentleman may he rest in peace

We’re all absolutely heartbroken and devastated at the sudden passing of my uncle, Seán Sheehy — “Sheets” to so many who knew and loved him.
He was more than just family — he was a legend in every sense of the word.
He played football at a high level, including time with League of Ireland and The UK, but it wasn’t just his career people admired — it was his warmth, his wit, and how he made everyone feel welcome. He was there for everybody.
He died doing something he loved — playing his last game of football.
He was so well loved. He made everyone laugh. I honestly don’t think there’ll be a single free seat in the church. That’s the kind of person he was.
We’ll miss him more than words can say.

To Agg, Sean and Trev, so sorry to hear of Sean’s passing. From playing on Johnny Kings team in the 60s, I knew I had a friend for life. Always great fun and never a dull moment, he was a great character. Rest in Peace Sean.

real gent and so modest considering what he had achieved in the game. Reading the tributes
from Bohs and dundalk it is clear he was very highly rated, and was also good enough to play

So upsetting to hear this unexpected news on Monday. Thoughts are with Aggie, Trevor and Seanie. Sheets was an amazing man, he would always light up a room with his personality. That infectious laugh of his would always make me laugh. He was my Dads best friend the past 50 years and they had some great times together always laughing and living life to the full. In recent years ive really realised how special their friendship was as Sean was always just a phonecall away no matter what the circumstance. Ive so many happy childhood memories of Sean including most Sundays after a match him bringing out Tk Red Lemonade and crisps to myself, my sister, Trevor and Seanie while we sat in the Sheehy footwear car outside Ziggies. There was always a joke or two with the delivery of the fizzy drink and crisps . He also caught me out big time with a prank call pretending to be an LOI manager . My Dad will miss him dearly as will all our family.We all have so many great memories of Sean.
A legend of a man loved by everyone.
