What a beautiful celebration of Selim’s incredible life today.
It was very moving to be at the Resource Centre’s Family Fun Day on Sunday in Selim’s final hours and to take part in the minute’s silence when we got the very sad news of his passing.
The Centre was the beating heart of Dundrum that day with singing & dancing on the streets, just as you have been Louise in your trojan work for the community.
We were remembering Selim who last year cooked up a storm on the BBQ despite his illness.
It felt like the community were carrying you all and by your side in those final hours. You wanted the Fun Day to continue and it certainly did in tribute to you all.

Dear Louise and Neeama, and Lee, we are so sorry for your loss. As your neighbours across the road for the last 10 years, we will miss chatting to Selim as he sat outside the house on sunny days with faithful Coco at his side and his gentle smile to all of us. He bore his illness with great strength and courage, as did you both too in your support. Lots of love to you all from Lisa, Laurent, Lena, Barra and Killian.

Rest in Perfect Paradise my friend. You gave me a god daughter just like yourself, fierce and ferocious. You fought this battle with grit and determination and that was a testament to your character. I promise to always make sure Neeama and Louise are ok. May your spirit blow free. 💔

Selim was one of the kindest men you could ever meet—honest, genuine, and with a heart of gold. He taught me so many valuable life skills, from fishing to barbecuing, and always offered the best advice. I truly cherished the time I got to spend with him and Coco during my two days of work caring for them.
