Such a great loss to his family. We watched footage of Sergeant Cullen’s funeral with full military honours - what a terribly sad but immensely proud day for his loved ones. A solemn and fitting tribute and the Defence Forces at their finest. May Patrick’s gentle soul rest in peace.

A Gentleman, Rest Easy

My sincere sympathy to the Cullen family on the very sad passing of Pat. Having served with Pat for many years in Custume Bks I have come to regard him as an absolute gentleman. As a people person Pat was ideally suited to his role in the FCA and later RDF as a Cadre Staff member. In this role he excelled due to his amazing interpersonal and communication skills. Pat was often the first interaction that potential recruits had with a military person and as such were totally put at ease by his friendly personality and calm reassuring demeanour. It was a privilege to know him and an honour to have served along side him. The loss to the Defence Forces the 6 Inf Bn and to his many comrades and friends of a great NCO in Sgt Pat Cullen is immeasurable. The loss to his family is devastating. I hope that the wonderful memories you have of Pat will be a comfort to you all at this very sad and difficult time.
