Shane BROWN

I am a classmate of Shane's from the Irish Centre for Human Rights at NUI Galway and I am incredibly sad to hear of Shane's death from cancer. He was a sweet, caring and fun man--always a joy to be around. I was in cancer treatment myself during our days at ICHR and Shane knew I'd go back to NY occasionally for that reason. He always remembered to wish me well. Who could have predicted things would turn out like this? God's ways are not our own, though, so all we can do is trust. That sure can be hard, though May Shane's soul rest in peace and may his family find comfort.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Shane. I worked with Shane in Seville and he was always a very warm, charming and friendly person to be around. We used to have a lot of laughs in Spanish classes together and shared many a glass of vino in La Alameda. May he rest in peace!

My deepest, sincere condolences to all Shane´s family. He worked at the Spain language school here in Puertollano, Ciudad Real and was much loved by everyone he came into contact with. It was here he discovered his vocation for teaching young learners and it was a pleasure to watch him work with children who responded to his good will by eating out of his hand. He was my employee but he was first my friend and I am proud to have had the privilege of knowing and sharing so many wonderful moments with him . We´ve never met but I know you all through Shane and I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I hope you may, in time, be able to draw some solace from knowing how well-regarded Shane was among colleagues and friends here in Seville.

Shane made the world a brighter, more pleasant and more intelligent place than it would otherwise be - witty, self-deprecating and the soul of generosity, he always put consideration towards others before his own concerns.

It has been a privelege to have known him and worked with him - he will be remembered with affection.

I am very sorry to hear about your loss Chris I hope you can find some solace in the memories that will be with you forever.
