I still can't seem to accept this, from the moment I met you there was never a doubt that you were a decent gentle soul, whoever you encountered in your life on your many journeys their lives were lit up by your positivity and kindness including my own. I will forever hold dear all the shenanigans we got up to in your younger days.
You will be missed terribly by all of us as you were taken way to soon.

From the moment you stepped into our lives 20 odd years ago. As our son's friend, I knew you were a good soul. Your smile lit up the room, your laugh infectious. Many a laugh was had when you'd visit for a poker session or just a session 😁 you were like one of our own children. You'd turn up with a bottle of Captain's finest...enough said.. Wee Derry our hearts are broken, our lives never the same, for God took you by the hand and led you home. We'll NEVER forget you kid. I tuned in to watch the funeral of Shane from abroad. I am so saddened by his death and it was evidently clear from the mass and tributes how popular he was. I have many fond memories of hanging out with Shane in our teens. I only wish it continued as adults but we always spoke to each any time we met. You could not find a nicer guy. May he rest in peace.

On 14th of March 1988, our Lord bestowed on us an angel.
He would touch the lives of many.
His heart was made of gold.
His laugh lit up the room.
But while the Lord he giveth, the Lord he taketh away.
Just shy of 35 years later, the Lord decided that Shane's earthly work was done and he took him back from us to be with the angels.
And just as we all cry our tears at his passing, a huge crowd have gathered in heaven. Those who have gone before and the angels receive him with open arms. Rest in peace my friend and know that the lives you have touched will be forever better for knowing you. X
