Mr Freeman, You were the kindest, and most coolest teacher I experienced in SMC. It’s quite sometime now, but my memory of you teaching me all about Le Château des Versailles and your love for the French language was very inspiring to me as a student.

Shane was not only a great teacher who made learning enjoyable, but also such a genuine and down to earth person who will be missed dearly by so many.

I was so very sorry to hear of Shane's passing. I have many fond memories of visiting the Freemans in Kiltimagh with my parents Pat and Tom and my sister Emma as a child. Pat was a great friend of Margaret's. It was always a house full of love and fun. Thinking of Margaret, Chris, Shane's wife Orla and his children, as well as his brothers and all of their families and his friends. May he rest in peace.

I was shocked when I heard that Shane passed away . Shane and I shared a house in Galway many years ago ,He was a great guy and he was always ready to help out when he was needed . I followed his path through college/ work / marriage
He fitted a lifetime into his short life . Condolences to his wife and 3 boys and also to Christy and Margaret and the Freeman family . Shane Rest in Peace .

To the Freeman family. My deepest condolences on the loss. Shane was a wonderful man and will be a huge loss for the Freeman’s and the town of kiltimagh.

Offering our deepest condolences to Orla, Ruairí, Darragh and Eoghan and to all the Freeman and Gibney family members on the utterly devastating passing of Shane.
Shane was a gentleman; a very kind person and a thoughtful friend. He enriched the lives of so many in our community and we are blessed to have known him💞 He was a huge inspiration to all our boys…..They shared countless happy times together, with Shane leading the way as a revered mentor and guide. He introduced them to golf via the nine holes of Ballyhaunis Golf Club; coached them on the astroturf for Kiltimagh Knock United Soccer Club and managed them in Gilmartin Park for Kiltimagh GAA. Shane instilled a sense of respect, fairness and humility in each of his protégés that continues to shine through today. He never lost his love for fun though and that little bit of devilment brought many a laugh giving us memories that will last a lifetime. Unfortunately his own was cut short far too soon💔
Shane was a family man through and through and he lived - as long as he could - for you and your three beautiful boys and it was obvious that he cherished every moment that you all had together. We are also heartbroken for the Freeman and Gibney families at his huge loss from their lives💔
Our world is a far better place for having had you in it Shane. We thank you for inspiring us all and for teaching us so many life lessons. Rest easy and enjoy the celestial fairways now that you are on high xx🙏💞

Sincere condolences to Orla, Ruairí, Darragh and Eoghan, to Shanes parents, brothers and extended family colleagues and friends. I worked with Shane in the early 2000s when he taught in St Columba's Comprehensive, Glenties. He was a wonderful, good natured and fun colleague and a dedicated teacher.
Shane organised trips to Paris for the French students. Myself and two other colleagues accompanied on one such trip to assist Shane. Shane had it so well organised we didnt notice we were working. Shane left us for Mayo when he met and married the love of his life, Orla. Everyone who knew Shane here in Donegal is saddened this week on hearing of his untimely passing.
Eternal rest grant onto him O Lord. May perpetual light shine upon him and may he Rest in Peace.

Peach had such a massive impact on my life through golf, as a mentor, as my french tutor but most of all as my friend. He taught me so much and I will be eternally grateful to him. A gem in a family of diamonds, we will miss him so much but he will never be forgotten. His sons will grow up hearing from so many, so often, about what an incredible man their father was and how Peach touched so many lives!

Heartbroken to hear this news. I only met Shane a handful of times but I could tell that he was good man. Knowing the people around him, all fantastic people, is enough to know that he was a man most worthy of respect.

A family of gems has one less diamond, gone from this world but will be remembered fondly for a long time to come. His family and friends enjoyed great fortune to have had him in their lives, and are undoubtedly proud of the man he was.
